Christmas thru New Years Part 1

This is my M.O...I don't post for weeks and then I post the longest blog ever to get the pictures off my camera. I am sure this bogs down the person who wants to read an update but not a novel. To you, I apologize. For the rest who have boring jobs or spare time...this is for you. Okay, so before Christmas we went to several parties. It was actually fun and really this year I felt no "Christmas Burnout." I only took my camera to like 3 parties. Here are a couple.

We had our community group "Dirty Santa" Christmas party. I have done White Elephant but never "Dirty Santa" where you could've literally given a half eaten sandwich with a bow on it and I think it would have been fine. No one would trade because everything was so horrible. Our gift was the only one that was stolen and became frozen so I am proud of that. My favorite gift of the night was that of the newly married Sarah and David. They claimed to have gotten horrible wedding gifts at their shower that could beat any one's bad gift stories but I didn't really believe them...well I for SURE think they won. They put their least favorite wedding gifts in the Dirty Santa and one of them were knitted pillowcases of a kitten in a basket of flowers. What the *(#&$*#&? Okay, sorry but that is awful...READERS...PLEASE DO NOT KNIT THINGS AND GIVE THEM TO YOUNG NEWLY WEDS UNLESS YOU WORK FOR KARL LAGERFELD AND HAVE A REAL TALENT FOR SEWING THINGS THAT COULD BE RELEVANT IN OUR CURRENT DECADE. Oh David also said for his birthday his "unique aunt" got him an old rock that was obviously not his gift of choice, but became even funnier when he did research and found that it was fossilized coyote poop...

The happy couple Sarah and David

LeCrae and Darragh were the lucky winners

LeCrae then used his fame to exploit a young impressionable fan by telling him that Kitten Pillowcases were "where its at." The kid fell for it, Crae signed it and now that kid has bad decor in his bedroom.

And just for fun, our community group babies:) Jeremiah and David. Jeremiah belongs to (well God) Rosheka and Steffon Smith and David is Darragh and LeCrae's.

Let's see...then Shannon and I had a cookie exchange. I was totally stressed out about this...Molly Abrigg gave me a recipe for Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies and they were not looking like cookies. They actually turned out sort of plastic looking. But Shannon swore that she loved them. It wasn't Molly's fault, I just think something went wrong:) I thank you Molly for your help. It was a fun group of about 12 girls from the ages of like 19-35 so that was unique but really fun. We had a really good time. I didn't do well taking pictures, but here are some random pics...

I took this picture because I wanted a before and after of the table once it was full of cookies...the only problem is I didn't take the after picture.

This is Liz whom I love...she was acting out a famous name to other guests...Darragh and I won this game and Liz was not happy about that at ALL!! Anyone who knows Liz loves her or makes fun of her. She seriously longs to live a sitcom or a movie...she wants to go to a diner where everyone knows her name and do "fun" things and have "Friends" type friends. I love to watch her create these moments! Everyone needs more Liz in their lives:)

Okay and this is Shannon. She and I hosted the party together. You might remember Shannon from the previous post when we almost got into a fist fight over "mom sweaters." Well I took this picture of Shannon because I stare at her often because I think she is so beautiful. If Shannon even had an inkling of how beautiful she was she might be an unmanageable snob:) (probably not) but she is so naturally humble and sweet. Shannon was looking even more beautiful to me that day because she was gaining weight:) I wont out all of Shannon's life but she is 12 weeks pregnant. I call this a miracle of God. Ordinarily it is indeed a miracle but Shannon and Jeremy have been married for 5 years and could never get pregnant. It just wouldn't happen. Well Shannon went to see a fertility specialist and went home with nothing more than an "I will see you next time." Well she missed her next appointment because she was in Hong Kong and missed the one after that because she was pregnant. Nothing but God and a little whole milk. Adam and I had prayed for them about this specifically and are so excited for them. Congratulations. LOVE YOU SHANNON! DON'T BE EMBARRASSED WHEN YOU READ THIS!

Okay, well I will post Part 2 of the Christmas and New Years activities on Monday. I am driving to Dallas (for the second week in a row) to celebrate Melissa's bachlorette party! WOO HOO!! Adam is en route to Colorado and Matt C is out of town so I will be staying with Lauren C. So that should be a fun slumber party!!!!!!!!!!! Til Later,

1. Although I am glad you get time with LC, I am MAD I got sick. I was going to make us a fire we could snuggle in front of. I am praying by tomorrow this fever is gone (it doesn't look like it since I can barely hold my head up).

2. I LOVE Shannon's story. :)

3. Make me those pumpkin cookies.
