Well Geez, there is so much that I want to blog about that I am getting overwhelmed! I guess if I would blog regularly that wouldn't be a problem. I am not going to blog about New Years as I had planned, but I will say that we just chilled out with a big group and Adam led us in a great time of talking about the Mercy of Christ. He just focused on our abilities at times to create New Year's resolutions apart from Christ focusing on the new calendar year as though we have a greater fresh start when the reality is that the Lord's mercies are new EVERY MORNING. It was really refreshing and a great reminder. He had us write down the things that we had resolved to do in 08 in our own strength and had us nail them to a cross. Really just as symbolism that apart from viewing our goals in light of clinging to Jesus' work on the cross and its hope and redemptive power there was really nothing we could accomplish on our own that would be worth anything. Love you babe! Thanks for always leading not only me but, our community, well.
Some of the guys that were there...look at Danny...sheesh
Some of the girls...I was about to die, Adam and I went to dinner before hand and I ate WAY too much sushi, plus wine, plus some awful chocolate dessert with ice cream that I couldn't stop eating.
Moving on...As much as I love Texas...I AM OVER IT!!! Or at least over driving there! Because of Christmas and Melissa's wedding I found myself driving there 3 weeks in a row. I knew that would happened but figured it would be fine. Well it was fine until the weekend of the Bachelorette party. I had to drive by myself and I promise God added 100 miles to the route. It took forever. There were a few times that I wanted to cry, but I had to get myself together. But I was soooooooo glad to be apart of Mel's bach party and just her whole wedding in general! It was sooo much fun:) My sweet Smelly is married!
Matt was out of town so I stayed with Lauren. It was really fun:) We had a little girlie slumber party with Lauren B. the first night and ate pizza and cookies! I didn't go to bed til almost 3am! Even after that long drive!!! I think one of the Lauren's spiked my coke with No Dose.
Snuggle Party!! Later that night a trail of crumbs on the comforter led to the breakfast bar that Reid was eating that morning which was underneath my pillow:)
The girls heading to the Bach party...Lauren C was looking hot! Bachelorette Barbie??
We had a lingerie cookie decorating contest and a panel of married women that Mel could ask questions to. Here is Mel in all her "Fun Haired Glory" judging the cookies.
The Lauren's won...
Mel's bridal brunch! The old roommates from 1031! I love this:) We moved out LESS THAN A YEAR AGO and 3 of us are married and one is well on her way, but I won't say which one it is...
All the girls. Mel looked beautiful for every occasion. I give her new "trendy classy" look a definite thumbs up.
And then there was the wedding. It was really beautiful! The gospel was preached and people were shown Jesus in such great ways throughout the weekend. Mel was as beautiful as always. I didn't take alot of pictures at the wedding, I was too distracted by the fun and there was this other girl there, Lindsey Brittain, who takes pictures a little bit better than me so I let her do what she could. Hope they turn out okay. Congrats Mel!! I am so happy for you! Let the fun times begin:)
Tess and I... I love her more and more everyday!!
Me and Mel:)
I love being a bridesmaid for all the fun behind the scenes moments:) What a great weekend!
And just for fun...Tuesday night my honey and I went to see LEBRON JAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and the Grizzlies and Cavaliers were there too. We had to hurry and eat something in the car because we wanted to see the team warm up and we might have missed something cool. We didn't...but Adam stopped off at a little Italian restaurant and I told him, "Hey babe, just get me something like a small slice of pizza..." With that in mind he went inside and came out with a slice the size of my head.
Struggling...its actually bigger than it looks.
But of course... I got the hang of it and ate the whole thing!
Adam ate a huge sandwich in the car too and then at the game decided to eat this...
Like this...
It was a fun time with my sweetie:) I was sneezing everywhere because I had day long allergies and he kept laughing and saying "Awww My Love is sick!" LeBron beat the Grizzlies and scored 51 points. He pretty much babysat them and taught them some moves...almost to his demise. Because of the amazingness of Rudy Gay (Grizzlies player) they had to go into overtime!! And then LeBron won:) (oh and the other guys on his team scored some points too.) Okay that's all y'all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for hanging in there!!!
